The first job after breakfast is cleaning the car. well, one does have standards, and then we drive to the scrutinering area to ensure the car is still safe to take part after its punishing drive from the UK. It is probably the drivers they should focus on rather than the car, as I am sure you will see over the next few days.

Then we have the delicate job of fixing our official run number, “35”, to both sides of the car.

Once our admin is completed, we head off to the official briefing. Because we have done it 3 times we are now black hats. The worrying thing about this is that we are the go-to jobbers for advice. I will need to keep an eye on my compatriot who is prone to make-up stories, and then give it as a fact. Years of being a teacher have perfected this.
Briefing done it is off to Imola F1 track following the tulip direction book.

We had to arrive at exactly 20 mins after we left the start location.

Unfortunately I had forgotten to start the stopwatch so we had to guess our time across the finish line.
We did a couple of parade laps of the F1 circuit which was still a challenge to keep up in our little mini.

We then did a special stage of manoeuvring against the clock. My compatriot was the driver so I will not comment on her performance save that we stalled halfway round, and could not find reverse gear. We will be easy to find on todays score sheet.
The evening finished with a dinner and charity auction that raised over £6,600 for Buttle. What a generous bunch of jobbers.
