Day 13. Police!

Today was a late start, which gave us a free morning. It’s not my idea of a free morning when I’m being dragged around various shops by my compatriot looking for presents to take home. Anyway, I did it silently carrying various bags and buying refreshments. The saving grace was the shops were within the Lingotto, the carefully converted Fiat factory.

Lunch was taken in the Lingotto before we prepared form up to enter the streets of Turin with a police escort.

We have previously driven up these ramps within the building to the rooftop where Fiat cars were put through their paces. Now, these ramps are walkways that lead to shops and cafés and the roof top, which, following Covid, is an open-air bar and restaurant. It has a lot to answer for.

At precisely 2pm, we assemble to meet the police who will take us in a convoy to places featured in the film.

First, stop a children’s hospital to donate toys etc for children affected by the floods.

Then, on to cause chaos on the streets with 40 minis.

A fantastic trip to all the iconic sights in the 1966 films.

This was all finished off with a black tie dinner where awards were handed out to different teams.. There was a video featuring every team with a lot of piss taking. One of the waiters was a comedian,

Don’t they scrub up well.

We did get this award.

and a good night was had by all.
