QM2 Cruise Day 20

It’s a big day today in several ways. Its wash day and the cabin washer woman has found the laundry and commandeered two machines. We now have to wait 40 mins to swap the wet items into the drier. I took the precaution of sending my shirts to the ships laundry, and they have arrived back nicely pressed along with the invoice.

The second big thing today, although less exciting, is that it is the last full sea day before we arrive in Cape Town. We were late leaving Port Elizabeth last night due to high gusts of wind so don’t know when we will arrive.

Washing took presidence over breakfast, so the next stop was for coffee and cake in Samuel’s place to reward the washer woman and avoid an invoice from her.

We attended another talk by Mike Dilger before retreating to the Corinthian lounge for a drink and snacks accompanied by a guitarist.

As a penance, we walked a mile around the deck before attending another four handed piano recital. I am doing a lot of things I would not normally organise or travel to, but when conveniently presented, who knows what you will do and how much you’ll enjoy them.

This evening is the last gala night with a flapper theme and opportunity to scrub up.

A late night show then dancing for Sue.
