African Tour Day 4

04:30 alarm call, 5am coffee, by 5:30 we are off on the game drive with our guide Peter.

According to my personal guide, she confidently tells us we saw 10 species, which was quickly updated to 12 as she was reminded of others, and then she went quiet.

We had coffee with Amarula in it and biscuits en route.

A whole family of elephants crossed the road in front of us, we saw a pride of lions eating a kill, zebra, giraffe, hippo, different species of antilope, wilder beast, mongoose, gecko, dung bettle, and various birds, just to name a few.

Then, back for breakfast by 10 am, what a busy morning, before a rest by the pool until afternoon tea and another game drive.

The evening game drive was less fruitful, only seeing less of the animals already seen until we were almost back at the lodge in the dark, we came across families of elephants, zebra, and impala browsing by the track.

It was a stunning sunset before the storm which happened just after our return to the lodge.

Into dinner and then to bed after a long day.
